Last week, our Year 8 music students immersed themselves in African drumming workshops led by Ofori Abraham and Kienou Mamadou from African Drum Hong Kong. As part of their World Music unit, students explored the richness of African culture through djembe drumming, singing and playing music games.
Vindy Ho, our Secondary Specialist Teacher - Music, shared that the most valuable lessons the students took away are the importance of music in African culture, the sense of unity and belonging felt in a drum circle and the importance of teamwork and collaboration. The highlight for many? The lively African music games!"
