You are never too young to start developing your leadership skills as demonstrated by the Year 2 students, last week. Taking part in, Learning to Be a Leader, students spend Friday 1 August looking at what skills an effective leader has.

The day started with an introduction to leadership led by members of the school's leadership team and student representatives from Years 6 and 12, who explained what being a good leader means to them and what they do to make a difference in the school. They answered also the Year 2 questions.

The students explored the “You Can Do It” character traits: persistence, resilience, getting along, confidence, and organisation through hands-on activities and team challenges. The highlight was a newspaper fashion show where creativity and collaboration stole the show!

Colin Young, Head of Year 2, shared, "Looking ahead, Year 2 students will now take on leadership roles as playground leaders. Each child will undertake duty sessions to help younger students and their peers by finding friends, sharing toys, picking up litter, locating lost property, and more - putting their new skills into action!"

To celebrate becoming leaders, every student received an AISHK Leader 2025 wristband.
