Congratulations to Year 12 students James Goh and Sophie Tang, recipients of AISHK’s first‑ever Association of China and Mongolia International Schools (ACAMIS) Service Learning Grant, awarded in recognition of their student‑led initiative, The Bridge.

The ACAMIS Service Learning Grant supports initiatives that create a meaningful and lasting impact in a community. The Bridge was recognised for its vision to connect people with service opportunities across AISHK.

Sophie said, “One of the fundamental gaps in service work is connecting people with the service opportunities that are already out there. Many students and parents are enthusiastic about service, but don’t have the time or understanding to research how they can get involved. Our group is not just about providing opportunities, but providing diverse and unique opportunities. The Bridge aims to link AISHK to under‑recognised or under-served projects."

They plan to establish The Bridge as an annual community service festival, showcasing service organisations, highlighting real community issues in Hong Kong and providing tangible ways for students and families to engage. This fair-style event will include stalls, displays and guest speakers.

James and Sophie are leaders of the, YES Club (a student group that brings people and projects together). The ACAMIS grant will enable James and Sophie to fund YES Club initiatives and support the inaugural, The Bridge event at AISHK.

“This grant is not only financial support. It also serves as crucial recognition for our efforts at building a culture of service at AISHK," James said.

Well done to James and Sophie for their leadership, vision and commitment to service.
