Head of School Message, Term 3 Week 4 2026

Dear AISHK Community,
This week is Bullying No Way Week across Australian schools which is a national call to action to foster kindness, inclusion and respect so every student feels safe, valued and able to thrive. For our community, Bullying No Way Week is a reminder to notice others and ensure every student:
feels safe, seen and valued;
belongs;
is treated with dignity and respect; and
can speak up and seek support.
We all must consistently show up for each other daily with empathy, respect and the courage to care for one another. This week we recognised this important Australian 'call to action', our students committed to daily acts of kindness, inclusion and support.
During Secondary assembly, the Wellbeing Prefects hosted an interactive quiz. They prompted students to consider what bullying is and why it has no place in our school. They explained how we can all support our peers and promote kindness.
Primary students also took up a special kindness challenge because the theme of this year's Bullying No Way Week was 'small acts of kindness.' Everyone in the school took part in creating a purple paper chain inscribed with a promise or act of kindness. When you visit school, please look for these chains in the 2F Atrium. The messages from students are important reminders.
Thank You to Our Parents' Association & Volunteers
Earlier this week, I had the pleasure of hosting an informal 'sundowner' gathering to express our deep gratitude to the AISHK Parents Association and our many dedicated parent volunteers. The vibrant, warm community they help to shape plays a crucial role in the life of our school. Thank you for everything you do for AISHK.
AISHK Campus Enhancement Update
A few weeks ago, in my Dhanara message, I explained plans for significant campus improvements later this year. We are pleased to share an update about the largest refurbishment works the school has undertaken and will improve the student experience. Click the link to see more.
The major works are scheduled to take place over December 2026 and January 2027. They will be completed on time for the return of students on Monday 25 January 2027. Please note that to allow these enhancements to be completed safely, efficiently and on time, the campus will be closed to all visitors for four weeks during this period.
Before the end of August, we will share a 'visual walkthrough' of the Wellness Wing so please watch Dhanara for details. This will provide students and families with a virtual animation of this exciting next phase of the school's long overdue Wellness Wing upgrade.
