Welcome back to Term 3! We are so delighted to see our Primary families return with such warmth and enthusiasm. The students have settled in beautifully and are already diving into their learning with focus and determination. It’s been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they work towards their individual goals, and the energy across the school is inspiring. We’re looking forward to a term filled with curiosity, creativity, and connection. Thank you for being part of this journey with us!

Year 3 Assembly

This morning, we had a wonderful Year 3 assembly that took us on a road trip, in a comby no less, around Australia.  The students performed well and shared their learnings and joy!  I particularly enjoyed The Nut Bush dance and wonder if we will see a version of this at our AISHK 30th anniversary ball this weekend?  Congratulations Year 3!

 ySafe and Cybersafety

This week we welcomed ySafe, Australia’s leading digital safety experts, into our classrooms.  There were age-appropriate messages for our students, and we will follow up with this content throughout the year.

School TV has been launched at AISHK, it is a curated website full of wonderful wellbeing resources for families.  We all know that there is no rule book for being a parent, however, there are many experts working in this space.  Matching with our cyber safety day on Monday I would like to highlight the Cyber safety series.

In today's digital world, young people are more connected than ever, using technology for education, social interaction, and entertainment. While the internet offers incredible opportunities, it also presents significant risks, including cyberbullying, online predators, exposure to inappropriate content, and excessive screen time.

Cybersafety is about equipping children and adolescents with the skills and knowledge to navigate the digital landscape responsibly. This includes fostering open communication between parents and children, implementing appropriate parental controls, educating young people about privacy and online etiquette, and encouraging a balanced approach to technology use. By promoting digital wellbeing and responsible online behaviour, we can help young people harness the benefits of technology while staying safe in an increasingly connected world.

On Monday 1 September we will be hosting a parent information session with ySafe online, I highly recommend joining us for this session.  Knowledge is power and together we can keep our students safe online.

As always, we welcome feedback regarding any of the resources that we share, please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.
