Term Two continues to be an incredibly productive and rewarding time for student growth and development. As educators, we often see the greatest progress during Terms Two and Three, when strong relationships have been established and students are thriving in their learning environments.

This week, I had the pleasure of joining our Year 6 students on an excursion to the Crossroads Foundation, a charity AISHK has proudly partnered with for over two decades. Our students represented the school with distinction, engaging in thoughtful discussions, asking insightful questions, and demonstrating respectful behaviour throughout the visit. It was a proud moment for all involved.

As we approach the final two weeks of term, we’re mindful that students may begin to feel tired. We encourage families to revisit and reinforce daily routines especially around bedtime. Quality sleep is essential for young learners to succeed and feel their best at school.

Semester One Reporting

Semester One reports are a key milestone in the Primary school calendar, providing a comprehensive overview of each student’s academic progress, personal development, and learning behaviours.

This year, we are excited to transition to a new reporting platform, iSAMs, which will streamline administrative processes and improve communication between school and home. We’ve also made a meaningful change to the report format, each report will begin with a focus on personal and social development, followed by academic subjects including English, Chinese and specialist areas. This reflects our commitment to student wellbeing and aligns with AISHK’s core values.

Academic achievement will be assessed using a five-point scale: Excellent, Very Good, Satisfactory, Developing, and Experiencing Difficulty. Please note that Satisfactory indicates your child is meeting year-level expectations a commendable achievement that reflects steady and appropriate progress.

Reports will be available online via the iSAMs Parent Portal from Tuesday, 24 June at 2:00pm. We encourage parents to share the positive feedback and celebrate areas of growth with their children. Focusing on strengths is especially important for young learners. We hope you enjoy reading the reports and find them helpful in communicating your child’s development.
