Last week, Year 5 students celebrated Leadership Day. The day challenged students to consider what it means to be a good leader and what role they will play in shaping the school.
Visiting parents shared their valuable insights and experiences, House patrons and captains lead teamwork games and Head of Primary, Mrs Thomas talked about the importance of good communication.
Here’s what our students had to say:
“I believe all Year Five students had a fantastic time at Leadership Day! We enjoyed Subway lunches, listened to Year 5 parents present, played games, and worked on our teamwork skills. I especially loved the games during the House patron session, where we split into our four Houses. It was a great way to build teamwork, which is essential for being a leader!”
“I really enjoyed Leadership Day! Having the parents come in was a brilliant idea, as it provided diverse perspectives on leadership. It was also exciting to learn about their careers. Mrs. Thomas's talk on communication was fascinating, showing how vital good communication is for effective leadership. The cup tower building session she organized was super fun too. And of course, I absolutely loved the Subway lunch to wrap up our event!”
A huge thank you to speakers, Mrs. Page, Mr. Johnston, and Mr. Leong for inspiring our future leaders with their messages of courage, kindness, active listening, and having a clear vision.
