Health and Safety Reminder – After-School Supervision

Caregivers are reminded to actively supervise children in the playground after school and to keep them off the field during ECA hours. Your support helps keep all students safe. Please be reminded that staff are not on duty for supervision after school and we request the cooperation of caregivers at these times.

If a caregiver is waiting for a child to finish an ECA, please wait on the GF (i.e. sports terrace, or undercover playground) and not in stairwells or corridors of the school.

Campus Upgrades

This week, all parents received an important email from Kevin Elliott, Head of Finance and Operations, outlining recent and upcoming campus improvements. A key upgrade completed in 2025 was the installation of air conditioning and an air-filtration system in the 9F swimming pool. In use daily from 6:45am to 7:45pm, the enhanced facility now better serves students and the wider community during lessons and beyond school hours.

Wellness Wing – Phase One

Kevin’s email also outlines the phased redevelopment of the ground floor into the Wellness Wing—a transformative project for students. This project has student wellbeing and physical health at its core. Phase one, set for completion in January 2026, includes a modern human movement lab to enhance learning. Phase two, planned for later in 2026, will focus on redesigning an innovative playground and modern outdoor breakout spaces to support play and social connection.

AISHK 30th Anniversary Ball –  Wellness Wing fundraising

On 9 August, over 350 guests gathered for the AISHK 30th Anniversary Ball, an exceptionally memorable event led by dedicated parents and staff. With strong community support and an abundance of outstanding prizes, the raffle and auction raised over HKD $400,000 to fund the school’s Wellness Wing.

Call for parent participation – Review of PDHPE and Sports Provision

This term, AISHK is launching a short review of the PDHPE and Sport programs to ensure we continue delivering and developing a successful experience for students, now and into the future. Leading the review is Paddy McKenna, an Australian consultant, who brings extensive expertise from school-based experiences in independent schools.

With a strong background in physical education and sport, Paddy is widely respected for his expertise, professionalism, and deep knowledge of education, sport, and event management. He supports schools in enhancing PDHPE and sport programs while celebrating existing strengths.

We will be inviting parents to contribute to this review process through focus groups and a short digital survey—your feedback is vital to ensure we continue to develop physical health for our students. Invitations will be shared next week. Please look for further details via email and thank you in advance for your support.

I am looking forward to joining the Year 11s and 12s for the senior formal on Friday evening at the Hotel Icon. It is always a joyful night and celebration of our school’s greatest asset – the students!

Enjoy the weekend with your family.

Mina
