I had a great start to my Friday today, watching the Prep Assembly! The excitement and energy in the auditorium this morning was wonderful with students showcasing their learning of personal identity, social thinking skills and the development of emotions. Congratulations to all the students and teachers. Many thanks to all the parents for attending the Prep Assembly.
Next week students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 are undertaking NAPLAN assessments. NAPLAN is an Australian nationwide measure through which parents and teachers can track the literacy and numeracy development of children over time. The results can assist teachers by providing additional information to support their professional judgement about students’ ability in relation to their on-going classwork. Students do not need to prepare for these assessments but they should approach them ready to ‘try their best’ and with positivity. These formal assessments are an opportunity to develop the exam skills needed to be successful as a student moves into senior schooling.
You might be aware that under construction is a new school website due to "go live" next week. It has been developed as a tool to support the admission to AISHK and this process. The new website will be helping families considering AISHK for their child and provide the information they need. The site gives visitors a sense of what it is like to be part of the AISHK community, the dedication of teachers and the opportunities available to students. After it goes live you can give your feedback by emailing, info@aishk.edu.hk.
