At the 24-Hour Race seven AISHK teams of runners raced around the Peak, raising funds and awareness to end human trafficking, from 29-30 November.
The teams collectively raised over $75,000HKD on behalf of Hog Kong charity- Sons and Daughters, that fights trafficking here in Hong Kong through frontline work and The Freedom Story, a charity based in Thailand that provides at-risk youth with education to help them avoid falling into the cycle of trafficking. Additionally- race participants entered a raffle to help raise funds for the recent tragic fires in Tai Po.
The 24-Hour Race is organised by students, and we are proud to have contributed multiple student directors to the race in the last few years. We also have a member of staff on the board of RTSTT (Running To Stop The Traffik) the charity that hosts the event.
I was inspired to become Marketing Director after an amazing experience as a runner in 2024. It’s a great way to make an impact through something I love - running, while connecting with friends. Seeing race hoodies and t-shirts around Hong Kong post-event makes me proud to know I helped create something that raises funds and awareness for such an important cause.
I highly recommend applying for a directorship with the race if you have big ambitions or ideas. You don’t need prior experience - just be organised, hardworking, and eager to learn! Roles include Marketing, Business Development, and Operations. Applications are open until 21 December, so don’t miss out!
