On 12 November, the AISHK community was treated to a spectacular performance of Beauty and the Beast – The Musical. This production was a year in the making, with auditions kicking off in Term 1 followed by months of rehearsals of singing, choreography, and line work.

Primary Creative Arts Specialist, Jaime Ashton shared, “Managing multiple students in each role was a challenge, but the dedication and teamwork paid off. Watching every performer shine on stage was truly rewarding. For some, this was their first musical experience, while others returned for their second or third time. Throughout the various stages of the production, they experienced a wide range of emotions yet consistently demonstrated perseverance and teamwork. Along the way, they learned valuable lessons in accountability, perseverance, and teamwork - skills that will serve them well beyond the spotlight."

“Behind the scenes, they looked after one another and cheered each other on. By the end, they truly understood that teamwork makes the dream work,” Jaime reflected.

Samantha Brown, Classroom Teacher and choreographer, shared, "We witnessed incredible growth in every student this year. From stage presence to singing, dancing, and overall expressiveness, they truly blossomed as performers. What stood out most was the resilience and dedication of a few students who stepped in as understudies at the last minute when castmates fell ill. Their courage and commitment were remarkable, and they delivered outstanding performances."

Congratulations to all involved for bringing this enchanting story to life!
