Year 7 student, Brandon Lam won 3rd place in the final competition at the, Pianists of Asia Pacific Association International Piano Festival 2025 in Seoul! The competition has been designed to attract the most creative and brilliant pianists from around the world to perform an open repertoire programme that may consist of one or more pieces of their choice. Brandon played, The French Suite no. 4 in E-Flat major, BWV 815 by J. S. Bach, The Seasons - May: Starlit Night by Pyotr Tchaikowsky and Variations on a theme by Paganini by Isaac Berkovich.
At the festival, Brandon took part in master classes with renowned pianists, an experience which he describes as, incredibly inspiring. He learned that no matter how accomplished you are, there's always room to grow.
He also mentioned that the resilient mindset taught at AISHK helped him navigate the cold weather and the festival's hectic schedule. Brandon explained one unforgettable moment - when a piano pedal broke mid-performance, and he had to think on his feet to adapt quickly!
Congratulations to Brandon on this impressive achievement.
