On 3 November 2025, excitement filled the auditorium as Year 4 students gathered for one of the most anticipated events of the year - the AISHK Year 4 Maths Tournament.
This annual competition is more than a test of numbers; it’s a chance for collaboration and connection. Year 4 students teamed up in 24 House groups - Waratah, Wattle, Eucalypt, and Jacaranda, supported by Year 9 leaders who hosted the event.
The tournament featured two dynamic rounds. First, a fast-paced maths relay had teams racing to solve problems while runners and scorers kept the scoreboard buzzing. After a short break, students tackled six challenging logic puzzles, each under a five-minute time limit, earning sweet rewards for their efforts.
The energy was infectious. Students worked with enthusiasm, showing impressive problem-solving and teamwork. By the end of the day, their strategies had sharpened and their confidence soared.
In a nail-biting finish, Wattle claimed first place, edging out Jacaranda by just three points.
A huge thank you to the Maths Department, Year 4 teachers and Year 9 students for making this event a success. The laughter, smiles and shared challenges created lasting memories for everyone involved.
