Year 12 Wins SCMP Student of the Year Award

Congratulations Year 12 student who won the SCMP Student of the Year Award, Devotion to School at an awards ceremony held this weekend at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Our winning student was among 40 outstanding young people who received top honours on Saturday, at the awards hosted by the South China Morning Post newspaper.

Competition for the awards has never been higher. Under the theme of "Leadership in Action: Shaping the Possible", the awards received more than 900 nominations from 181 schools, a record number of entries.

"Over the last 45 years, the SCMP Student of the Year Awards have grown into one of Hong Kong's leading youth award programmes," Chief Secretary Eric Chan Kwok-ki said in his opening remarks for the event.

"It gives our students a platform to shine, and it pushes them to reach for even greater heights."

The AISHK winning students impressed the judges with her devotion to school by creating a Healthcare careers group, developing first aid training and her commitment to service learning through the YES Club.

The judges said that the awards, aim to nurture a new generation of young people with a global perspective, a sense of responsibility, and a deep affection for Hong Kong.
