Year 11 IB Students to Host HK Bridge CAS Fair
On Thursday 22 October, Year 11 IB students will host the HK Bridge CAS Fair in the Auditorium from 10:30–12:30.
This student-led event forms part of the IB Creativity, Activity, Service programme and has been designed to highlight local and global issues that students are passionate about. Through interactive booths and community engagement, the fair aims to encourage our school community to move from awareness to action.
The concept for HK Bridge was developed by students James Goh and Sophie Tang, who wanted to “bridge the gap” by reducing barriers that can prevent people in our community from participating in active service in Hong Kong.
In preparation for the fair, Year 11 students have investigated a range of social issues, connected with local NGOs, and designed booths that encourage visitors to learn, reflect, and consider meaningful action. Visitors will have the opportunity to take part in activities, speak with students, meet NGO representatives, and explore ways they can contribute to the wider community.
We are delighted to welcome representatives from a number of local organisations, including ImpactHK, Hanuman Charity, The Zubin Foundation, iACT, Mind HK, Kids4Kids, Asia Birthday Happiness, Running to Stop the Traffik, Fu Hong Society, and Bethune House.
Earlier this year, HK Bridge received an ACAMIS grant of USD 700, which will be used to support one of the NGOs or issues represented at the fair. Visitors will be invited to vote for where they feel our community support should go, helping students make a thoughtful decision about how the funding can be used to create meaningful impact.
The HK Bridge CAS Fair is a celebration of student initiative, collaboration, service learning, and community action. It reflects the spirit of CAS by encouraging students to investigate real needs, engage with different perspectives, and take purposeful steps towards positive change.
