Year 1 Learn How to Strip the Willow

This term, Year 1 students are learning Scottish country dancing in their music classes.

Jane Engelmann, Primary Arts Coordinator said, “The smiles say it all!  Year 1 students had a fantastic time learning a lively Scottish Reel as part of our Giraffes Can’t Dance: Rhythm, Pitch and Movement unit. While having fun dancing with their classmates, students were developing their understanding of beat, rhythm, timing and coordination, and discovering how different musical styles inspire different ways of moving."
