Outstanding Debut by AISHK Teams at STEM Racing Competition

On Saturday 24 May, AISHK entered two teams into the STEM Racing Hong Kong and Macau Inter Schools Development Class Competition, at United Christian College.

The teams made an impressive debut in the competition! Team Overdrive won the Best Engineered Car award, while Team Aetherion placed in the top three for Best Brand Identity, from 18 competing teams.

Tom McTiernan, Creative Industries Teacher, explained: "STEM Racing allows students to apply their learning in a real-world scenario. Students use professional standard software to design and make the cars and develop a brand around it. The process brings all their skills together from, testing their car using air simulation software to finding a sponsor for the entry fee."

"The team did very well and they presented themselves and the school brilliantly."

Next stop: the Professional Class Competition in December, with hopes of qualifying for the World Finals in Singapore!
