Annual Teacher Recruitment for 2027

We will be sharing details of the new Primary and Secondary teaching staff appointments for 2027 with families during Term 4. I am pleased to report that this has been another highly successful recruitment season for our school, with strong interest from an exceptionally competitive field of educators within Hong Kong, Australia and internationally. The quality and depth of applicants affirmed the strength of AISHK's reputation and the attraction of our vibrant, values-driven community. We are currently finalising the appointments and look forward to introducing all these outstanding educators who will be joining our School in 2027.

Appointment of Head of Science (Years 7-12) 2027

After dedicated service to AISHK since 2017, Dr Andrew Hill, our current Head of Science (Years 7-12), will leave at the end of this school year. Andrew has made a significant contribution to the Science Faculty and Hong Kong Award for Young People (AYP) programme through his leadership, commitment to excellence and passion for student learning. We will formally farewell Andrew in December and thank him for his service, dedication and contribution, wishing him every success in his next chapter.

Following an extensive international search, I am delighted to announce the appointment of Ms Erin Munn as Head of Science (Years 7-12), commencing in January 2027. Erin is currently MYP Coordinator at Cranbrook School in Sydney, a dual curriculum HSC and IBDP school, and previously served as Assistant Head of Science. She brings strong experience in science education, IB and NSW curriculum, assessment, accreditation, educational technology and staff professional learning and is recognised for her collaborative leadership and focus on high-quality teaching, learning and student wellbeing. Erin has said:

" I am incredibly excited to be joining AISHK. Science has always been about more than facts and formulas for me; it is about curiosity, problem-solving, discovery, and understanding the world around us. I am looking forward to meeting students, families, and colleagues, building strong relationships, and contributing to the vibrant learning culture that makes AISHK such a special place. I can't wait to get started and be part of the next stage of the school's journey."

We look forward to welcoming Erin and her young family to AISHK in January 2027 and are confident she will contribute strongly to our Science Faculty and broader school community.

Farewell to the Class of 2026

As our Year 12 students enter their final days of secondary schooling and on behalf of our school community, I would like to acknowledge an important milestone in their educational journey. Over many years, they have contributed to the life of our school through their learning, leadership, service, creativity, humour and friendships, leaving a lasting impact on our community.

This moment is also an opportunity to recognise the many parents, caregivers and staff who have walked alongside these students throughout their journey. Their guidance, encouragement, care and commitment have played an important role in supporting the growth and success of this graduating cohort.

Next week, we look forward to formally recognising and celebrating the Class of 2026 at our Valedictory Assembly and Valedictory Dinner. These occasions provide an opportunity to honour their achievements, reflect on their growth, and wish them every success as they embark on the next chapter of their lives. We look forward to celebrating this special milestone with students, families and staff.
