Head of Primary Message, Term 3, Week 9 2026

As we reach the end of a busy and rewarding Term 3, we take a moment to reflect on the many experiences, achievements, and opportunities that have enriched learning across our Primary School. Most importantly, we extend our sincere thanks to our students, families, and staff for their ongoing engagement, support, and partnership throughout the term.

This term, we were delighted to welcome 76 new students into our Primary community. It has been wonderful to see so many new learners and families quickly embrace the opportunities and connections that make AISHK such a special place.

Students enjoyed a wide range of memorable learning experiences beyond the classroom. Year 6 students participated in a fantastic Austrade event, including avocado chocolate mousse cooking sessions that brought learning to life through hands-on experiences. Year 1 ventured out to the Flower Market, exploring the vibrant sights, smells, and colours of Hong Kong while making meaningful connections to their living things unit of work.

Book Week was a highlight of the term, with students celebrating the joy of reading through a range of engaging activities. We had a visit from a guest author, who inspired our Year 2 students and provided valuable insights into the writing process and the power of storytelling. A particular highlight was the book week dress up parade where teachers and students embraced their love of literature!  I wonder if parents should join in next year?

Science Week sparked curiosity and creativity across the school, culminating in an incredible film featuring many of our Early Years teachers.

Some of our youngest learners also celebrated significant milestones. Prep students embarked on their very first excursion and proudly marked 100 days of learning, reflecting on the growth, confidence, and friendships they have developed throughout the year.

Alongside these special events, our teachers continued to deliver robust teaching and learning programs, carefully designed with intentional and engaging learning experiences that challenge and support every student. These opportunities reflect our commitment to providing a rich educational experience that nurtures academic growth, wellbeing, and curiosity.

The term ended with Year 6's Change Makers exhibition where they follow the inquiry cycle and take some action in relation to their United Nations goal.  We are proud of every one of them and hope they take the skills of research, questions, setting up meetings and following timelines into their high school journey.

Finally, a heartfelt thank you goes to the incredible staff of AISHK. From our teaching assistants and teachers to our administration and support teams, every member of staff contributes to the success of our school. Their dedication, care, professionalism, and commitment to our students ensure that AISHK continues to grow and thrive. Without our exceptional people, we would not be able to achieve all that we do.
