As Term 3 draws to a close, it’s a natural time to reflect on the many achievements and experiences we've shared as a school community.

This term brought some unexpected challenges, particularly with the unprecedented weather disruptions that led to six days of campus closures. In response, our Primary section has been working diligently to refine our online learning provisions, striving to strike the right balance between synchronous and asynchronous approaches. We hope your children were able to engage meaningfully with their learning during this time, and that you were able to create a supportive environment at home.

Sydney Grammar School Orchestra and Choir

Despite these interruptions, we’ve enjoyed a vibrant calendar of events. Last week, our Year 3, 4, and 5 students participated in their swimming galas, showcasing their enthusiasm and House spirit. On Monday, we had the pleasure of hosting Sydney Grammar School orchestra and choir. It was a joy to welcome their touring group and witness the exceptional talent of their young performers. A standout moment was the choir’s rendition of Migaloo, composed by Annie Kwok. After the performance, I had the opportunity to speak with a student named James, who shared a thoughtful insight: he strives to balance his passion for both sport and music, a sentiment that truly resonated.

Version 9 of the Australian Curriculum

Our teaching teams have also been busy preparing for the implementation of Version 9 of the Australian Curriculum in HASS and Science, scheduled for 2026. This update presents exciting opportunities to develop new units and enhance existing ones. The Australian Curriculum continues to evolve responsively, and these changes will help strengthen the alignment between learning outcomes and content.

SchoolTV

A reminder that we have a wonderful resource, SchoolTV, available for families in which to refer. There are many appropriate articles, videos and summarised pdf documents for you to access. SchoolTV is open to clients giving them feedback and topics to research – please freely email the Primary Office to offer your suggestions.

As we head into the holiday break, we hope it offers you and your family a chance to rest, recharge, and enjoy quality time together. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for Term 4, the final and fun-filled chapter of 2025.
