It has been a vibrant and energetic fortnight across our Primary School, with students embracing learning, leadership, and opportunities to shine both in and beyond the classroom. This term we have re-invigorated our Primary certificates and it has been wonderful to see students receiving these in assembly for displaying PROSPER in action.

Thank you to parents who attended Parent Teacher Interviews this week, we hope you found the discussions worthwhile and you are feeling well informed about the progress and growth for your child/ren.

A huge congratulations goes to all students who participated in the Upper Primary Cross Country two Fridays ago. The determination, positive sportsmanship, and encouragement shown throughout the event made us incredibly proud. Last weekend AISHK took part in the HKPSS Cross Country event, where our fastest competitors took part in a race around Discovery Bay – a big shoutout to students, parents and staff who attended this event!

Our Year 4 and Year 2 cohorts each delivered outstanding assemblies on the last two Fridays that showcased both their learning and their confidence. Year 4 students led an inspiring presentation exploring their learning about energy and the environment this term. Their creativity and teamwork shone through beautifully. Year 2 brought joy to the audience by going back in time. We are incredibly proud of both year levels and grateful to the teachers who supported them.

Looking ahead, students in Years 3 and 5 are preparing for NAPLAN with a calm and steady approach. Our message to all students remains consistent: simply aim to do your personal best and remember that NAPLAN is only one small part of your learning journey.

Just as exciting is our upcoming Camps Week, which promises to be a memorable highlight of the term. School Camps offer students real time opportunities to build friendships, develop independence, and experience learning in hands‑on ways that stay with them long after they return home.

There are so many reasons Australian education values outdoor education and camp experiences. Ten of the most important benefits include:

  • building resilience

  • strengthening teamwork

  • encouraging independence

  • promoting physical health

  • boosting confidence

  • enhancing social skills

  • spending time in nature

  • creating lifelong memories

  • developing leadership

  • having fun

We hope that you have enjoyed your week.
