The Box of Hope is a charity that brings gift boxes, created by students, to underprivileged children in Hong Kong and across the world in Pakistan and Cambodia. This is typically done around the festive period, such that these children, who typically wouldn’t receive anything over the holidays, get to enjoy things like toys, and stock up on stationary or amenities.
This year, the YES Club is encouraging students across both primary and secondary to get involved. Box of Hope stickers have been distributed to all classrooms. These stickers contain instructions for what needs to be included within the boxes and must be stuck onto the completed boxes. Apart from items on the list, we encourage you to include other appropriate (non-violent, age appropriate) items such as games, toys, or plushies. The box itself is typically a shoebox and wrapped with wrapping paper. Students should also include a small handwritten card addressed to whoever receives the box.
The boxes must be brought in between the 10th and 12th of November (Monday – Wednesday week 5). There will be a collection point just outside the auditorium where you can drop of your boxes. We hope to see a mountain of boxes!
