The stage was set, and the energy was electric at the inaugural Secondary School's Battle of the Bands! Four bands - Dumplings, Pebbles, Unicorns and Anonymous - went head-to-head, each bringing their unique sound and style to the stage.

From classic hits to modern pop anthems, the performances had the crowd cheering and singing along. Dumplings earned the title of Most Improved Band, while Pebbles claimed victory as the overall winner.

In the lead-up to the event bands were asked to submit audition videos (at the end of Term 3) and those selected were invited to participate in a Battle of the Bands workshop, which spurred students on to work hard and get excited!

The judging panel included Head of Secondary Peter Phillips, Science Teacher Ben Foreman and YRock Manager Miriam Ma.

Reflecting on the event, Vindy Ho, Secondary Specialist Teacher - Music, shared, "Each band was well-presented. They made fantastic progress, and their musical achievements were impressive. Some band members performed on stage for the very first time and others are new to their instruments, having only started playing this year.

And the excitement doesn’t end here - audiences will get another chance to hear them play at Jingle Mingle in December.

A huge round of applause to our talented bands!
