AISHK will launch its second Artist in Residence project, welcoming Becky Gilmore from Make and Do HK from 1–5 June. A textile artist with a background in the textiles and fashion industry, Becky specialises in mural work, fibre-based installations, and creative practices using yarn and fabric, often incorporating sustainable and recycled materials. She has worked extensively with schools in Hong Kong, conducting workshops that encourage creativity, experimentation and artistic exploration.
Throughout the week, students from Reception to Year 6 will take part in a range of hands-on, creative activities. Younger students (Reception–Year 2) will explore stamping on cloth, while Years 3–6 will engage in collaborative weaving projects on House Flowers, with Year 6 students also building sewing skills.
This project has been made possible through funds raised during our previous Artist in Residence project with Francesco Lietti, continuing our commitment to enriching the arts at AISHK.
