The Senior Basketball teams returned to campus victorious this week, following the ACAMIS tournament in Shanghai.
After three days of matches the boys' team were named Champions, with the girls team getting to the semifinals.
After a long holiday break and limited preparation, both the girls and boys teams represented the school with great pride and tenacious spirit. The girls team ended the round robin tournament with 2 wins and 3 losses while the boys lost to the home team, Wellington College, in the opening game before winning their other matches to finish on 4 wins and 1 loss.
Unfortunately, the girls lost their semifinal and ultimately finished the tournament in 4th place. The boys beat Xiamen International school in their semi-final and advanced to the Championship game for a another match against the host team. In a thrilling final that was 21-21 at half time the Roos’ team committed to defence and valued every possession of the basketball, winning the final by 6 points and becoming back-to-back champions in the ACAMIS competition.
