Hello everyone!

Welcome to Term 4 and a special welcome to all the new families to AISHK; we hope your children are settling in comfortably.

The year is flying by and I hope you have all recharged your batteries over the break as we have a busy term ahead of us!

At the end of Term 3, I had the privilege of attending the valedictory assemblies and dinner, to farewell our Year12s. As I watched these remarkable young ladies and gentlemen step on stage to receive their graduation certificates, I couldn’t help but be swept by emotion and pride. It wasn’t so long ago when I first met some of them in Primary school. To witness their transformation into the bold, kind and capable adults that they have become has been a true privilege and inspiration. During my conversations with them, the common comments resonated around the relationships that they had fostered, the wonderful Secondary teachers that have shaped their lives and how fortunate they are to have studied at AISHK, their second home. Good luck Year 12s in your HSC and IB exams – the world is waiting for your arrival.

This week, I attended the Secondary assembly, whereby our new cohort of prefects were sworn in. Our new school captains, Emily Chang and Will Walsh, delivered an inspiring joint message to the Secondary school, urging everyone to be an active participant in our community and to not be afraid to try something new.

I would therefore like to follow on from this and urge all parents to do the same – to actively participate in our school community and not be afraid to try something new. Let us be the role models for our children and show them that we are walking this journey alongside them

Our PA committee has had a busy year, delivering many opportunities to gather and build a strong supportive community within our school. We have introduced some new ideas; some have been truly successful, some not so. We will repeat our successful ideas and look to refine those that we wish to repeat. Whatever we do, we maintain our overarching ethos of inclusivity, teamwork and community spirit. I am so very proud of our talented team for their generosity, fortitude and team spirit.

We have two large events left for the year and we seek your support to make them successful:

- The Sunset Soiree – 7 November

A parents cocktail party with gourmet food, drinks, dancing, and most importantly, to gather with each other to share stories, catch up with old friends & meet new ones.

If you have not yet had the chance to attend an event this year, why not try something new and come along to discover our great community? Don’t be shy!

We have some great prizes to win on the night – flights, designer bags, vouchers, hampers!

Buy your tickets here: Sunset Soiree - Purchase tickets

- Jingle Mingle – 3 December

Our annual Christmas picnic for families.

We will be seeking volunteers to help us run this event. Watch out for the emails in November and please join in!

I wish everyone a wonderful Term 4 and look forward to meeting you at our events. Thank you for all your support.

Cheers,

Kwai Lee
