Congratulations to AISHK student Dora Hao for being selected for the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) Junior Researcher Mentoring Programme! The programme provides secondary school students with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of a chosen research topic across different fields and to nurture their analytical and research skills under the guidance of PolyU’s academics.

Dora said, "I plan to study something related to psychology or business for university, so when I saw PolyU had a research programme with a diverse range of research topics, I knew I wanted to apply for the opportunity to investigate adolescent mental health. The application process was rigorous, requiring school reports, recommendation letters, and an interview about my interests in this field."

PolyU, selected just four international school students from 35 applicants for the student's research group. Running from March to August, the programme includes weekly research sessions, with research done between meetings and culminating in a presentation to professors in late July.

Dora believes this experience, will help her to develop research methods and teamwork skills as well as deepen her subject knowledge.
