♻ Recycle
AISHK has worked hard during Term 1 to get our recycling program on track. We’re continuing to work with Love Recycling Plus and recently we received this update.
“In Term 1, AISHK recycled over 4,290 kg of materials. This saved over 12,236 kg of carbon emissions, which is equivalent to planting 532 trees! Additionally, the recycled paper & cardboard helped save more than 27 trees from being cut down.”
Our next goal is to REDUCE the amount of waste that we produce.
How parents can help:
Use reusable containers to send snacks and lunches and avoid single use plastics
Pack realistic portions to avoid food going to waste
Pack foods that your child wants to eat and include them in shopping and preparing food
Ask your child to bring home their uneaten food home so you can adjust their lunches and snacks
Talk as a family about reducing waste at home
Bring your own reusable bags when shopping
Bring reusable containers when getting takeaway

🌏Earth Day
Earth day was on Wednesday 22 April. Mr. Chadha has installed beautiful Earth Day signs in the stairwell between each floor. These were made using reclaimed wood from our very own Green Roof. Please look out for them next time you are on campus.

🌱TASS
Jess and Erin, our Primary TASS Ambassadors, are happy to welcome Vincent and Chloe as Secondary TASS Ambassadors to our AISHK TASS team. Vincent and Chloe are our Year 12 Sustainability Prefects and will be attending meetings about sustainability with other Secondary TASS Ambassadors from across Asia.
