Records Smashed: Secondary Athletics Carnival Highlights

There was high drama at Kowloon Tsai Sport Ground this week, and we are not just talking about the senior students' costumes on show at the Secondary Interhouse Athletics Carnival! The speed on the track, the records smashed and the ever fluctuating House points tally made for a dramatic day in the sunshine!

Mr. John van Gaalen, Head of PDHPE, said, “The results were nothing short of dramatic. Eucalypt secured 638 points, followed by Waratah with 771. Jacaranda delivered an impressive performance with 900 points, but it was Wattle who stole the show, taking home the crown with a triumphant 905 points!

This year was particularly special as 17 school records were broken, a testament to the rising standard of athleticism among our students (more on this to follow). Standout performances included Lillian Pilgrim, who broke three records in the U14 100m, 200m, and discus events. Equally remarkable was Kester van Gaalen, who achieved the same feat by setting new records in the U16 100m, 200m, and shot put.

Congratulations to all participants, staff, and supporters who made the day unforgettable. Here’s to pushing boundaries and achieving even greater heights in the years to come!"

Thank you to AISHK students Evelyn Tse, Billy Cheng and David Dang for capturing some of these photos!
