Revitalising Facilities: AISHK 2030!

We are delighted to share some exciting news about our aspirations to reimagine and refurbish learning spaces over the next five years. Our objective is to ensure that the AISHK campus continues to support the high-quality, contemporary, and uniquely Australian international educational experiences cherished by our students and families.

The refurbishment of learning spaces is part of our commitment to the school’s current strategy, which focuses on,

  • Uplifting academic excellence,

  • Technological innovation,

  • Wellbeing, and

  • Campus facilities.

An update on the school’s strategy was included in Dhanara in early Term 1.

This year, AISHK celebrates its 30th anniversary, and our campus is now 25 years old. Key areas such as the auditorium, performing arts spaces, and science laboratories need revitalisation and their improvement forms part of a five-year plan. We will share more details about this plan in the future.

Annually, the school undertakes general campus maintenance and small-scale refurbishment projects using existing funds. In Term 2, we will share other refurbishment projects that will be part of our long-term fundraising aspirations for enhancing teaching and learning spaces. These efforts are all part of our goal for revitalising facilities - AISHK 2030!

Introducing the Wellness Wing

At AISHK, we believe that physical and mental wellbeing are deeply interconnected and crucial components of a successful educational experience. The school is committed to providing a well-rounded education built upon a foundation of positive wellbeing.

AISHK is embarking on the redevelopment of the ground floor, covered playground into the Wellness Wing. The goal is to uplift the environment, used by all students daily, to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of our students. The Wellness Wing will be the first major refurbishment project to support AISHK’s goal of reimagining learning spaces by 2030. This area of the campus is long overdue for a contemporary refurbishment.

This initiative will transform our existing covered playground and tuck shop into a contemporary wellness space that truly embodies the spirit of being outdoors, balancing work and play, and creating spaces where our students can thrive both academically and personally. The Wellness Wing will prioritise the health and happiness of our students, ensuring they have the best possible environment to learn, grow, and succeed.

Why The Wellness Wing Matters

The Wellness Wing project emphasises the importance of physical and mental wellbeing for our students. This contemporary, flexible redeveloped space will provide dedicated areas for connection, physical activity, and new academic experiences. The Wellness Wing will include:

  • Covered Playground: Durable materials, improved design, lighting, airflow, safety screens, and potential WallHOLLA integration. Designed as a dynamic, flexible space supporting students’ varied developmental needs and enabling creative learning, playing, and socializing for the community.

  • Senior Recreation Area: Outdoor space with lighting, flexible furniture, storage, and teaching opportunities. A social hub for older students to connect and relax, supporting community events and outdoor lessons.

  • Human Movement Lab: Repurposed area for studying human movement, sports science, and physiology, offering a safe environment for students to challenge themselves.

Project Timeline

We anticipate the Wellness Wing will be a phased project, with its first stage completed and ready for students within 2026. Please watch for more details about ways to support this initiative. In Term 2, we will share other revitalisation projects for the school which will be part of the long-term fundraising goals and enhance the teaching and learning spaces for AISHK 2030.

Fundraising to support the vision for the Wellness Wing at AISHK

Empowering AISHK

At AISHK, tuition fees alone don't cover the full cost of providing the exceptional education we strive for. As we celebrate our 30th anniversary, it's more important than ever to plan ahead and enhance our fundraising efforts. This will help us continue offering a well-rounded education focused on wellbeing and academic excellence.

Shaping Our Future Together

Our community's strength and dedication make a huge difference. Your contributions are vital in helping AISHK remain one of the leading international schools, ensuring our students flourish.

We're thrilled to announce a fundraising campaign in 2025 to bring the Wellness Wing to life. This exciting project will involve our friends, alumni, and supporters. There will be many ways to contribute, whether through donations, sponsorships, or fundraising events. Every bit of support counts, and we'll keep you updated on how you can get involved.

Your generosity is key to realising our vision for the Wellness Wing, enhancing the wellbeing and educational experience of our students. Together, we can create something special for current and future generations at AISHK.

To achieve our broader goals for learning spaces by 2030, we're establishing a long-term giving structure for donations. We encourage parents to connect us with potential supporters, sponsors, or donors. Please reach out to Brigitte McNamara (Director of Fundraising and Community Engagement – brigitte_mcnamara@aishk.edu.hk) to learn more or if you can assist.
