It’s been an action-packed fortnight with students beginning semester 2 with great energy and enthusiasm. Best of luck to our Year 12 cohort who are currently completing their trial and mock exams. While the exam block is intense, it’s a key milestone in our senior students’ final push toward graduation and a golden opportunity to build “match fitness” for official HSC and IBDP exams in October and November.

Invigilation Team

Our exam operations wouldn’t be possible without the outstanding work of our invigilation team, made up of parents and community members who are employed on a causal basis. If you are interested in working with us as an exam invigilator, please reach out to employment@aishk.edu.hk as there are vacancies for this year’s final exams. Role descriptions and further details are available via email, employment@aishk.edu.hk.

Prefects Interviews

I’m looking forward to meeting with Year 11 students this term who have applied to be prefects next year. As they go through their appointment process, I’m inspired each year by the passion the students convey for AISHK and their commitment to making a lasting impact on the school community. While our Year 12 student leaders will have mixed emotions about “passing the torch” in September, I know that they are excited to hear about the new prefects’ ideas for improving AISHK and facilitating a smooth handover.

Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences

It was lovely to catch up with many parents at last night’s parent-student-teacher conferences and these continue next Tuesday. As well as an opportunity to receive teacher feedback on academic progress, these nights are also important community-building events and offer parents the chance to build personal connections with the teaching faculty as well as other parents. If you were unable to attend the events in person, please reach out to your child’s teacher to request an online interview.

MMG Stakeholder Survey

Details were shared with parents this week about the biennial school stakeholder survey taking place this month, coordinated by MMG Education. All Secondary parents are encouraged to complete the anonymous questionnaire and the information gathered will assist and guide school improvement. MMG has strict measures in place to safeguard the confidentiality of responses and the higher the response rate we get, the more helpful and meaningful the data is.

Wishing all Secondary families a fabulous weekend and I can’t wait to toast and celebrate 30 years of AISHK with everyone attending Saturday night’s ‘Pearl of the Orient’ ball. See you there!
