Celebrating our Teaching Assistants.
We had another wonderful week at school, highlighted by a special morning tea to celebrate our incredible Teaching Assistants. Their dedication and support across classrooms play a vital role in the smooth running of our school, and we are truly grateful for their positivity and professionalism.
Ysafe webinar
The week began with a Ysafe webinar for parents on Monday. We were impressed by the professionalism of this Australian cyber safety organisation, and Abby, the presenter, was both engaging and insightful. In this space, our school psychologist Joanna Chan and digital specialist Troy Savill have been working closely with our Year 3 students on the concept of digital nutrition. This is a timely initiative, as we often see a rise in interest and access to digital devices, games, and messaging at this age.
Year 2 Excursion
Meanwhile, our Year 2 students ventured out on an enriching excursion to Kadoorie Farm, complementing their unit on Living Things. The program included tree planting, exploring wildlife habitats, and participating in environmental workshops. A big thank you to the Year 2 teaching team for organising such a meaningful experience.
Consistent routines
As we approach the end of Term 3, we encourage families to maintain consistent routines, especially around sleep. It’s common for young students to feel overwhelmed as activities ramp up toward the term’s close, and a steady routine can make a big difference.
Supervision on the field
A reminder from Ms Dunstan last week: after school supervision on the field is essential. Many of our younger students enjoy playing on the field and playground after school, and we ask that an adult always keeps a watchful eye on them. It’s a great opportunity to burn off energy and connect with friends, but safety must remain our top priority especially during the vulnerable afternoon hours when students are tired.
Artist-in-residence
We continue to be inspired by our artist-in-residence, Francesco Lietti. The collaborative artworks with students are progressing beautifully, with intricate details being added to bring the Hong Kong landscape to life. We can’t wait to see the final masterpiece!
Wishing you and your family a restful and joyful weekend.
