Arts Week

This week AISHK celebrated Arts Week. The Performing Arts Showcase included 120 students from the Primary and Secondary schools. Across two shows, musicians, singers, dancers, and actors performed scenes from stage and screen. It was an outstanding showcase of students' learning and commitment to excellence in performing arts, congratulations to all those involved.

The Secondary School’s Creative Industries Department set up a mini exhibition in the atrium for all students to view creative projects. Some student groups also created music videos, practicing how to make props, film, direct, and edit.

Chinese Week

Next week, the final week of Term 2, is Chinese Week, a celebration of Chinese language and culture.

The traditional Lion Dance will be performed on the school field on Monday, 22 June at 10:15am. Parents are warmly invited to attend.

Also on 22 June is the Primary students Chinese Shopping Day. Students are encouraged to bring $30–50 to participate in this interactive experience, using real-life shopping scenarios and Chinese vocabulary to make language learning both fun and practical.

On Friday, 26 June, students are encouraged to dress in traditional Chinese clothing.

Parent Association Father’s Day Stall

Thank you to the Parent Association who hosted the Father’s Day stalls this week. They dedicated hours of work in the months leading up to both Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, making gifts available to every student while raising funds for the school. Our community is stronger because of their hard work, and we sincerely thank them.

Next week, the school’s magazine, The Lion Rock, will be distributed to all students. This issue introduces Parent Association members, highlights Elevate — a new approach to Sports and PDHPE — and features an alumna whose life was transformed thanks to AISHK. Parents are encouraged to look out for the next edition.

Primary Learning

Parents are always welcome on campus to share in students’ learning. This week Year 4 parents were invited to view websites created by students, showcasing their learning about biospheres and ecosystems. Year 2 students proudly explained their science projects to parents, demonstrating curiosity and confidence.

Secondary Pathways

Supporting students in their next steps is a vital part of an AISHK education. This week, Year 10 students attended a lively “Subject Speed Dating” session with Year 12 students ahead of subject selection for next year. The energy and excitement in the room reflected students’ passion as they considered their futures.
