Get Redressed Month 2026

AISHK is once again participating in Redress Month, a month‑long campaign to break the cycle of fashion waste that comes at a huge cost to our environment.

Get Redressed Month 2026 encourages Hong Kongers to act against clothing waste by developing better habits around how we care for, wear, and share our clothes. By joining hands with schools, companies, and the public, we can give clothes a new life.

We are inviting all to donate good‑quality, re‑wearable clothing to Redress, a Hong Kong‑based NGO whose mission is to reduce the negative environmental impacts of fashion.

Clothing Donations

  • Donations can be placed in the large yellow and orange Redress boxes around the school

  • Collection runs until the end of May

  • All donated items will be sorted and redistributed to charities, resale, or reuse partners

Why This Matters – Facts & Stats

  • Over 400 tonnes of textiles are sent to landfill every day in Hong Kong — equal to 17,000+ suitcases of clothing thrown away daily

  • Most clothing is worn less than 10 times before being discarded

Simple Things You Can Do

  • Buy less, choose better: Buy clothes you really like and will wear often

  • Try second‑hand: Thrift shops and swaps are fun, cheaper, and sustainable

  • Fix it: Repair small holes or tears instead of throwing clothes away

  • Swap with friends: Share or exchange clothes you no longer wear

  • Donate responsibly: Give away clothes that are clean and wearable

  • Borrow or rent: Great for special events or costumes

  • Encourage: Motivate your friends and family to do the same!

If you have any questions, please contact our Sustainability Prefects, Chloe , Vincent, or myself.
