We are thrilled to announce that Chinese Week will be taking place during the last week of Term 2, June 23-27.

A wide range of activities have been planned for students including arts and crafts, shopping spree, Thai Chi experience, Chinese painting workshops and, of course, a Lion Dance performance! Students will also have the opportunity to wear Chinese traditional clothing on the last day of the term.

Chinese Lion Dance

The traditional Lion Dance will be performed on our school field on Monday, 23 June at 10:15am. Parents are

welcome to come and watch.

Chinese Shopping Day

Our popular Chinese Shopping Day returns on Tuesday, 24 June in the auditorium! Students are encouraged to bring $30–50 to shop using Chinese, experiencing real-life scenarios that make language learning fun and practical. We will recruit lots of parents to help with the shopping day. Please contact Ms Annie Sun at annie_sun@aishk.edu.hk, if you enjoy bargaining in Chinese!

Chinese Traditional Clothing Day

Students are encouraged to dress up in Chinese traditional clothing on Friday, 27 June. This could include qi pao, kung fu outfits and any clothing related to Chinese culture. This is not a Mufti Day, therefore, there is no payment/donation required. Students may only wear traditional Chinese dress if they wish to dress up.

Chinese Assemblies on Friday, 27 June

Year 3-6 | 8:30–9:15am

Reception-Year 2 | 10:20-11:00am

A selection of Chinese classes will be performing during the Chinese assemblies. Parents of these classes will receive an email from their child’s Chinese teacher inviting them to attend. This email will be sent to those parents before the end of this week.

Students and teachers are incredibly excited about Chinese week. We believe that this annual event is a great way to celebrate Chinese language and culture together as a school.
