Building Future Leaders: Year 2 Leadership Day

You are never too young to start developing leadership skills, as the Year 2 students demonstrated during Leadership Day on Tuesday 4 August.

The day began with an introduction to leadership led by members of the school's leadership team, the Year 12 School Captains and the Eucalypt House Captains. They shared what being a good leader means to them and answered students' questions about their leadership experiences and responsibilities. Following the discussion, students worked in groups to create outfits from newspaper, which they then showcased in a fashion show, demonstrating teamwork, creativity and leadership throughout the activity.

In the afternoon, the students participated in a series of engaging challenges. These included a blindfold trust activity, a bridge-building exercise using limited resources as a group, and a brainstorming session to identify ways they could lead and support other students within Early Childhood.

To celebrate their leadership journey, every student received an AISHK Leader 2026 wristband. They will now act as "Year 2 Leaders" during lunchtimes throughout Term 3 and Term 4.
