Book Week is almost here at AISHK!
Next week, we’re diving into a world of stories and imagination with this year's theme “Book An Adventure!” From magical reading spaces to our beloved Character Parade, the week is packed with exciting activities that bring books to life.
Primary students will take part in adventure-themed activities, cast their votes in the Picture Book World Cup Final and enjoy bilingual storytime each morning. The library transforms midweek into a glowing wonderland for the Spotlight Reading Party, while the Teddy Bear’s Picnic invites families to read together and pick a book from Bookaburra’s Free Little Library.
Hidden adventure tickets across classrooms will add mystery and fun to the hunt for reading rewards. Don’t miss the creative class competition showcasing 3D adventure models and be sure to check out the photo display at the school entrance showcasing what our students have been reading.
Secondary students will embark on their own literary quests with a range of exciting competitions and activities. Throughout the week, students will have the chance to win house points and other prizes for their participation and creativity. Mr Karl Malakunas, a journalist and documentary maker will be running an "Adventure Writing" workshops with Year 8 students.
The grand finale? Friday's Character Parade will bring everyone together to celebrate the joy of reading. Come dressed as your favorite book character and join the fun!
