Year 7 student Charlie was recently reminded that kindness has no borders, after her camera lost during a school trip to Beijing was found and returned to her.
The camera was discovered near the Great Wall of China by a tourist from India. The tourist tried to hand it in at the Great Wall's visitor centre. Staff at the center told the tourist that Australian International School Hong Kong had visited the wall that day and explained the camera would be disposed of if not claimed. The tourist decided to contact AISHK instead. He emailed the school, and another member of the AISHK community helped to collect the camera while in India on holiday in December!
Charlie said, "I was so thankful to have my camera returned, it has the Beijing trip photos on it. The photos I took on that trip captured some of the best times I had there. They reminded me of the laughter, conversations, and the fun moments shared with my friends. The camera also stored precious memories of me and my siblings from our childhood. It was really nice of the tourist to help and amazing someone could collect it!"
