Dear Parents and Caregivers,

As we move into the summer holidays, I would like to share a few important messages about Book Week for 2026. Most importantly, at this stage, read what you can do during the holiday break. More detailed information will be shared at the beginning of next term including a breakdown of the week.

Checklist

• Send to school children’s books to donate to Bookaburra’s Free Little Library. These can be put into boxes outside the auditorium from Week 1 Term 3. 

• Over the summer holidays, take a photo of your child reading. You can either send in a hard copy with your child in term 3 or email me at megan_oconnor@aishk.deu.hk 

• Start to think about your child’s Book Week costume ready for the parade on Friday 28th August.  This can be related to the theme OR just a costume of their favourite book character.  

• Reception to Year 2 students will be involved with the teddy bears picnic, parents have the option to join. The date for this is Wednesday 26^th. Specific times for this will be sent to you via your classroom teacher next term.  

I am sure you agree that Book Week will be exciting for the entire school community. Thank you for your help in getting your child organised for the different events.
