This year, we attempted our first hybrid approach for parent teacher interviews where parents could choose to meet face to face or online. Speaking with parents and teachers, we have found it to be a very successful process with parents appreciating the feedback they are receiving about their child’s progress. It is important parents are updated regularly which is why our reporting process each year looks like this:
- Term 1: Parent teacher interviews – Late Term 1
- Term 2: Full written report – Available from 18 June
- Term 3: Student led conferences – Thursday 7 September
- Term 4: Full written report – Available from 12 December
We report back to parents once a term to ensure parents feel updated on their child’s academic and social and emotional progress. Our online Digital Portfolio through Seesaw is also a great ‘in time’ source of information regarding how students are progressing in different subject areas as well. Overall, we aim to be regularly communicating with parents, keeping them informed of their child’s progress. Parents are also welcome to contact their child’s teachers at any stage if they are seeking more information.
If parents have any feedback about our process, I would be happy to hear from them. We want to ensure we are providing enough information and being transparent in what we are teaching and how students are progressing.
