Library Update | Term 2 Week 4

Greetings from the Library,

It has been wonderful to have students back on campus and enjoy both the library space and borrowing books again!

Battle of the Books-Primary and Secondary

Last week the Primary BOB final was held on Zoom. AISHK’s team did an amazing job on the day but unfortunately, we were runners up. Congratulations to all the students who participated in the Primary Battle of the Books competition, BOB ECAs and the Final in 2021-2022. We hope you will consider joining up in the future.

The Secondary BOB students will have the opportunity to participate in a friendly match against Nord Anglia next Wednesday 18 May. We wish the team well!

Sarah Brennan’s Writing Competition

Special congratulations go to Ken Wong in Year 4 for an Honourable Mention in the Years 4 to 6  Category of Sarah Brennan’s Terrific Tiger Tale writing competition!

You can read Ken’s entry on Sarah’s blog. NSW Premier’s Reading Competition-Prep-Year 6

Final preparations are underway for the launch of the 2022 NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge! Further details coming soon.

National Simultaneous Storytime-Primary

On Wednesday 25 May, Primary students will be involved in National Simultaneous Storytime. This is an annual event run by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) where children from all across Australia (and around the world) read a book together simultaneously. We look forward to sharing some photos from this event with you.

Secondary Library

A reminder the Library is now open at recess and lunch for Secondary students to enjoy. We have a wide selection of reading material available including books, magazines and newspapers (SCMP). Why not come and check out some of the new books and magazines on display.
