Dear AISHK Parents,
Message from Joanna Hartnett – President
On behalf of the AISHK Parent Association (PA), welcome to the 2022 School Year, and a warm welcome to new families and staff joining us this year. The PA Executive and General Committee members look forward to the opportunity to meet you and to provide a sense of our school’s unique community spirit. Any AISHK parent is automatically considered part of the AISHK Parent Association, and we encourage parents to take advantage of opportunities to support the school and make new connections. Stay tuned for more introductions, and in the meantime, please take a look at the 2022 AISHKPA Handbook and our school webpage for details of our mission, structure, members and activities including the PA e-Shop. Please reach out at any time to aishkpa@aishk.edu.hk should you have any PA queries.
A Warm Welcome to New AISHK Families ~ Message From Sue Sarelius, VP New Parent Coordinator
This year, over 150 new students have joined AISHK! A friendly Hello and Welcome to all who have just joined the school community. I am pleased to introduce myself as your VP New Parent Coordinator. I have one son at AISHK, Dominic, who is currently in Year 11. My main role is to facilitate a support network, connections and information sharing among new AISHK parents. I will be in contact with new parents soon to introduce myself further. We hope to hold the annual series of Welcome Forums at AISHK for those new to Hong Kong or new to AISHK. We will keep the community updated on this as and when possible. In the meantime, please feel free to reach out to me at ssarelius@me.com if I can be of assistance.
2022 Class and Year Level Representatives ~ Message From Ivy Fong, VP Community
Happy New Year to all AISHK families! To our new parents, it is a pleasure to introduce myself as your VP Community. My main responsibilities include seeking Class Representatives and coordinating their respective activities and communication with class parents. I have two daughters at AISHK; Kristy in Year 8J and Sofia in Year 1M. Further to communication in December 2021 and my welcome message to the confirmed 2022 Class Representatives, I would like thank all volunteer parent representatives so far. The callout for volunteers usually occurs in early Term 1 of the new school year. For 2022 volunteering, however, we started the callout in the preceding year, December 2021, so we truly appreciate the interest and support during the recent Christmas break.
We are pleased to introduce the below list of 2022 Class and Year Level Representatives! Your Class/Year Level Representative will be in contact with you soon, if not already, to introduce themselves and provide you with an option to join a class Whatsapp group. You will also see the classes which still require a volunteer and how to sign up. Please consider volunteering for this opportunity to support and connect with the AISHK parent community.

What is a Class Representative and why should I consider volunteering? The School and PA have a long tradition of seeking parent Representatives each year. It is a great way to meet other AISHK parents and families and to provide a communication link or contact-point for and between parents within class groups. The Parent Association works with and supports Class Representatives in this role. To learn more, please view the following: Role & Responsibilities Guide for Class & Year Level Representatives.
How do I sign up? Simply complete this form. Please note that volunteers will be accepted on a ‘first come, first served’ basis, ie. in the order in which applications are submitted. If you have any queries please email me at ivyfong2021@outlook.com.Thank you for your interest in playing an active role through PA in 2022.
The AISHK PA will be in touch with you again soon and in the meantime, you may hear from Ivy, Sue, or your class representative as outlined above.
Again, please reach out any time to aishkpa@aishk.edu.hk should you have any PA queries.
Until next time,
Joanna Hartnett | President – AISHK Parent Association
