Reception Newsletter | Term 3 Week 10

Hello Reception Families,

Here we are at the end of another fantastic term! It has been a great term of learning and fun together. Our students are continuing to develop their confidence and capabilities as they learn and grow. We have now had all of our students share their news and they have done such a great job! This is a space where both the growth of students’ confidence and their willingness to take on a challenge are evident. Such great learning!

Over the past fortnight we have enjoyed concluding our work on Our Five Senses. We have made popcorn, recognising the ways our senses tell us what is happening, as well as transforming our classroom into a light exploration this week! We had our windows covered and celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival with fairy lights and glow sticks. A great opportunity to learn about how we use our sense of sight! This week, we have celebrated Chinese Week. There have been panda visits, a fun fair and a dragon dance along with other activities arranged by the Chinese Department. Many thanks to the parent volunteers who called in last week and helped us make lanterns and dragons to decorate our classroom. It was great to have you on campus and in the classroom with us! We have also been reading some fabulous books together as a class to support our emerging literacy skills. Both the Meanies and Mrs Wishy-Washy have been great series to help us to think about what we are seeing and hearing, building comprehension skills. We are looking forward to continuing this learning next term.

Save the Date

We are excited to share with you that on Wednesday 8th December we will have a Reception Carnival! Both our AM and PM classes will come to school in the morning, giving them an opportunity to meet one another and get to know each other, all while enjoying the fun of carnival activities! We will share more details closer to the time. For now, save the date!

It has been a busy term with lots of moments to celebrate our learning progress. Thank you for your support over this term, it is truly appreciated. Wishing you all a restful term break and looking forward to seeing you again to continue our learning in Term Four!

  • If you have signed up to be a parent volunteer in class, please ensure you have uploaded the necessary supporting documents
  • We will be back for more learning and fun on Monday 11th October.
