Today we’re now at the end of the Spring Festival which began at the start of the Lunar New Year. The fifteenth day of the new year is usually referred to as the Lantern Festival. Traditionally, during the Spring Lantern Festival, children go out at night carrying paper lanterns and may try to solve riddles hung from the lanterns. Families may also choose to eat tang yuan, a kind of glutinous rice ball with a sweet centre. Yum!
It should be a fun time and yet may have some modifications during the current social distancing requirements, so do enjoy the time this evening as your family practices provide.
From student gossip shared with me at the front gate one morning, I know that several of our students are looking forward to a ‘holiday’ weekend where they may have a trip to Ocean Park or Disneyland in store for them. The anticipation of the change of routine makes for great excitement and it is refreshing to have an alternate activity to look forward to.
Finally, thank you to all who have shared correspondence with me this week as your perspectives are appreciated.
