The MTR are pleased to advise that their online application platform for the MTR Student Travel Scheme is now officially launched. Eligible students are highly recommended to submit their new or renewal applications using this easy and quick online self-service channel before 23 September.
For students who wish to submit a renewal application to extend their use of student concessionary fares, they may simply upload an image of their valid Student Identity Card instead of obtaining the school validation stamp.
Once the application is successful, they may pay and activate the “Student Status” in their personalised Octopus using the Octopus app.
Through the new online platform, the overall processing time is shorter and students no longer need to go to an MTR Customer Service Centre. The renewal procedure can now be completed in two easy-to-follow steps.
- Submit applications online
- Renew the “Student Status” and pay the application fees ($20) by using the Octopus app
A confirmation email, “Notification Letter – Renewal of “Student Status on a Personalised Octopus” with instructions, will be sent to successful applicants.
