[Head of Primary] Term 2 Week 2 Update

Welcome back to Term 2! We hope everyone has settled into the new school term and students are enjoying being back online for their learning.

It has been a smooth start to the term with the new timetable in place. Students are enjoying the extra online learning time provided in the afternoon, with Homeroom time being used for a range of purposes including, assemblies, check in from pre-recorded and live lessons, wellbeing focus, social and emotional development and preparation for the next day. Teachers are enjoying the opportunity to connect again with the students in the afternoon, so we see great value in this time being a part of the online learning programme.

Along with the other senior leaders of the Primary Division,  I have had the opportunity to connect with students through year level assemblies over the first two weeks of the term. It is a highlight for myself and the other leaders seeing the students engage in online learning in a relaxed and engaging way. We will continue to run fortnightly assemblies for the students either in the morning or afternoon while online learning continues.

We have parent-teachers interviews in weeks 3 and 4, so if you have not signed up for a Zoom meeting yet, please contact your child’s class teacher to organise a meeting as we have now closed the booking system on Parent Lounge. Parents can also book parent-teacher interviews with specialist teachers by contacting the specialist teacher individually. Please remember that all meetings will take place via Zoom.

We are looking forward to getting an update about when students will be returning to the school campus and we will be in contact with families once this has been confirmed.
