Welcome back to Term 2, with one week gone already!
Although we would all much rather have all the students on campus, I would like to thank all parents for their efforts in getting the students prepared, focused and ready to start their learning this week in such a positive way. Myself and the teachers have been impressed by the students’ diligence and their willingness to engage with their learning. It has been a really smooth start to the term due to your wonderful support and the positive attitudes of the students.
I have enjoyed seeing many of the students online this week through our different year group assemblies and they were all happy and excited to connect with their classmates and teachers. I loved hearing their laughter and sharing their stories. The students’ energy and enthusiasm is certainly uplifting. Even though we are still online, it is great to be back in school.
As it is Anzac Day tomorrow, Saturday 25 April, and we would normally commemorate this annual event with a service here at school, we have prepared a virtual AISHK Anzac Day service which we hope that you will view as a family.
As we continue to operate online for at least the next few weeks, we are endeavouring to find ways to connect with our community. We will continue to offer important events activities such as Parent Teacher interviews but these will also be online. We are also working with the Parent Association to find alternative ways to connect with our parent community during this time. We are seeking ideas from the students about creative ways we can also connect with them socially such as running House challenges and other fun activities which they might like.
Connecting with the different members of our community is a key priority for us this term.
