As the academic year comes to an end, the Careers Advisors have been busy preparing students for the years ahead.
Year 11 students: Careers interviews
With less than 12 months before they finish their high school education, the thought of tertiary study can be far from the Year 11 students’ minds, with tests, assignments and essays to complete. However, this is the perfect time to start conversations regarding post school plans. We have been discussing where the students are regarding their studies, life balance and strategies on how they can improve.
More important are the discussions on what they would like to study or do post-2020. Are their goals achievable? What about having other options? Where will they live while attending university? Do they know what it is like to work in their field of interest?
Parents should have received email information about what was discussed at the Careers Interview, as well as areas for consideration and suggested next steps. The Year 11 students were extremely well-informed and prepared for these interviews and they have a whole host of exciting options ahead of them. We are excited to continue the relationship with the Year 11 students as they move into Year 12 in 2020.

Unifrog is a Careers Guidance platform which AISHK has invested in, to allow students to research university courses, destinations and complete online courses. It is a site that can assist with the writing of resumes/CVs, applications and students can even see what type of career suits their personality.
