Reception Newsletter | Term 4 Week 8

Hi Reception Parents,

The time has come for our very last Reception newsletter. At times it feels like yesterday that I was writing to introduce myself and welcome you to AISHK. On reflection we have done quite a lot and we have come so far in our learning journey, it has been a great pleasure and privilege teaching your children and I am very grateful for your support along the way. Thank you.

Our Learning

Introducing Elfie

We have a new “person” joining our class and he will be keeping an eye on what we get up to in Reception. His name is Elfie and he arrived sitting on a shelf. At night he flies back to see Santa to tell him how well we behave in class. When he gets back, he sometimes gets up to some mischief and we need to find him. There is only one rule…we must not touch him, or he will lose his magic! We hope it will be a lot of fun to have Elfie in our class over the next few weeks, we are looking forward to the challenge of finding him each day.

Sports Day

We had a great time at our mini sports day. Thank you Mr Wookey for organising the events for us. It was a lot of fun. We especially enjoyed sharing the session with special people from our family. There was a lot of laughter and it was great to see everyone involved. I was exhausted at the end of the day! Thank you to everyone who was able to come and share this with us, especially as it is a very busy time.

Focused Learning

We returned to school after an unexpected break with lots of excitement, reconnecting with our friends and being back in our classroom. We have been getting our Christmas sparkle on and have been learning some classic Christmas songs so that we can join in the singing at the Jingle and Mingle next Thursday, 5 December. We have been making some Christmas decorations and have put up our Christmas tree.

What Next?

We will be preparing for our class Christmas party and making sure we have our decorations and food organised. Keep an eye out for our invitation! It was our last week for borrowing at the library and we won’t be borrowing again until we are in Prep. We will be handing out our Learning Journeys for you at the end of next week, I hope you enjoy looking at how far we have come over the last year and seeing how ready we are for our next learning journey!
