On Tuesday 26 November, over 250 Early Childhood students took part in their annual Athletics Carnival and Sports Day. The students took part in a modified program after the carnival was moved from Kings Park to the AISHK Field – a move which saw many of the older students, parents and staff able to come down support, cheer on and help create an energetic and exciting atmosphere for the students taking part in the carnival.
This year’s carnival saw students score points based on their performance, relative to their personal bests recorded in PDHPE lessons this term. This led to every students’effort and performance on the day contributing to their house’s overall score. Students not only competed for their house and individual personal best times and distances, but took part as part of a class team in class races and class long jump events.
It was fantastic to see the enjoyment, enthusiasm and effort of all students involved on the day, as well as the hard work and enjoyment of the amazing Early Childhood staff.
The final result of the carnival are as follows:
1st – Wattle 699
2nd – Euca 667
3rd – Jacaranda 641
4th – Waratah 639
